2011 - Are you ready?

Well it's a new year! I guess I'm ready.  My people took away all my carpet, left me with this iddy biddy area rug!
And I have this crazy Daisy dog still around. I thought she'd be gone by now but I guess she's here to stay. They include her in all the meal times and she goes outside when I do - so I guess we are inseparable.  Sometimes when I'm cold she's a good substitute for a robe or blankey!

I wonder what this year will bring?  Never know when you are owned by people. They do and say the darnedest things. You would think they would just sit down and let me rest but no.......they packed up all their duds (or some of them) took me to their daughter's house (the one with the crazy italian greyhound and Simba (my friend). Daisy and I had to stay there a whole week.  Can you imagine what difficulty I had getting the favorite spot on the couch.  All these other creatures thought they had first dibs. But I'm still the queen/princess or one of those royalties!

I don't see why they want to go out of town - don't they like it here - with me? I like to cuddle up before bed in my lady's robe and I didn't get to do that for a long time - not sure how long.

No sleeping away from home is something else. They did allow my playpen to come along - can you imagine if I had to sleep in a crate like the rest of these animals??

My lady just spotted 2 robins now she's on a kick worrying about them because they didn't go south for the winter. Whatever.  Maybe they like the tree out in front that she gripes about - says it makes a mess on the floor with all the berries falling to the ground.  Well how else are the berries going to get off the tree if they don't fall to the ground.  What else is new?

Today's a rather cold day and I didn't get much sleep so I think I'm done for awhile.
Hope you have a Happy New Year!

My Carpet is Shrinking!

Well, folks, it's happening to me again!!!  Just a year ago my humans actually cut my carpet up in little strips and they put down noisy wood floors.  We finally moved away from that floor that caused me to slide around when I ran.

When we moved here, I thought I was safe for sure! Lots of carpet for me to be on.  But no they had to take it all up and now they are putting down more of that slick stuff!

How's a girl supposed to run to the door to bark at people going down the street? I can't get stopped before I run into the door.

I just hate it when they change my world around!!

Humans Make Too Much Noise for a Dog to Sleep

Well there's just not enough quiet times at our house lately! My humans think they need to do some remodeling - I don't get it they did that at the last house!  This is just too much noise for me to sleep!

First he cut a hole in the wall and now he's banging on the door. What a headache!

Don't these people know a girl needs her rest???

I'll let you know what crazy thing they do next.......

My Back Yard Find

Hi Folks,
It's been awhile since I posted anything here. But last night was the best....almost!

Miss Daisy and I took a stroll in the back yard. We have our favorite spots to check out - neighbor's fence where the big white dog lives, side of the house where the rabbits frequent to get into the front yard, around the shed where the baby rabbits hide.

And did we ever find the coolest chew! We kept it in the yard as long as we could without being discovered. And yes I had to roll in it some. Miss Daisy doesn't have the skills (or brain) to know about rolling yet so I am the keeper of the goods.

So it was well past our time to go inside so Miss Daisy barked at the door for us - afterall I had my mouth full!

When the door opened Miss Daisy ran in and I sneaked past her and ran quickly with my prize to the front door and around the other side of the couch.  Of course, my lady is smart to notice I didn't run in my regular pattern when I came in or sniff out the water bowl like I always do. I really must work on my techniques I guess.

So she chased me to the playpen, where I was hoping to hide this wonderful smelly, slick and slimy treasure. If I could hide it long enough, maybe she wouldn't notice that I picked it up as I was being lifted in the play pen. Then I could have hid it under my blankey and rolled in it any time I wanted.  No, she just had to freak out and yell something about what do you have - you can't have that - it stinks.

Humans are such weird creatures! This was a lot better than those stupid rawhide things she brings home for us. Just think of all the protein I'm could have gotten.

And I would have shared with Miss Daisy. We trade off chewing on our best bones.

Anyway, the next thing that happened is my lady swooped up my delicious dish and THREW IT IN THE TRASH!  And the trash can is off limits for me for sure..........and you know I don't understand all that ranting and raving about how smelly I am....and now I have to have a bath. I tried to hide but there's no hiding from this woman when it's bath time!  So off we go and I dare not complain!  She actually used more suds than normal!  Why do I need my face washed?

Then finally my rinse...and the towel is the best part!  She gives a good rub down for a human. Finally I get out of her grasp and away I go!  Running all over the house gives me a lot of pleasure - no one could catch me - but they do try!  HeeHee

So now she chases Miss Daisy - but she likes the bath and she's stupid and just goes with her.  Now I have the living room rugs to myself while she is rub-a-dub-ing Miss Daisy.  Nice!

Soon Miss Daisy came out wet and wild looking with all that long hair!  We spend about 10 minutes running and drying off.  And then it was picture time - wasn't the bath humiliating enough?  No she had to have us pose and then the flash in our eyes.

Oh well - I feel good now!  Tomorrow is another day and we'll be looking for the next prize - maybe we'll get to keep it!

Mrs. Beasley here signing off till next time!

Happy Valentine's Day

Mrs. Beasley here (hey look at me the cute red one).  She doesn't talk - just eats my treats and sits in my spot on the couch!

Here it is February!!  Can  you believe it?  One of these days I'm going to have my little spot of sun come in the window long enough to get warm so I can settle down for the morning!!

My people need to go to Florida for the winter so I can bask in the sunshine!!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Eat some chocolate for me (not good for sweet little doggies like me you know).

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Mrs. Beasley went to the doctor!

Mrs. Beasley here!!  I went to the doctor because I have a cold. Can you imagine my humans are so concerned about my sniffles!  First we went to the Vet ER about 11 pm and then when my vet called back in the morning, both Miss Daisy and I had to go kicking and screaming to that Vet!!!

They put me on this glass table.  I hid my eyes so they couldn't see me but they kept prodding!  The nerve of humans.  They touch you and look in your mouth and take your temperature (oh my goodness I didn't know they would do that).  And then they have the nerve to give you medicine - twice a day even!  So now I have to take Benadryl - Miss Daisy will just eat hers but I'm so picky they have to give me cheese with it (I'm no fool)!  But then they make me drink the antibiotic - they aren't too nice when I act like I don't want it.

So hopefully we'll be all well soon.  My humans still go to work but they seem to be checking on us a lot!  That might bring extra treats if we work at it.....

Hope you stay healthly!

Happy New Year!!

Here we are? In 2010! Happy New Year!  We're having a great time - Miss Daisy & I.  I guess I'll let her stay around.  Since we moved to this house I'm allowed to go outside without a lease. Not sure why they let me but I haven't been in the street but twice since July. So no yelling "bad dog" or chasing me down the street.

Having Miss Daisy live here isn't as bad as I thought. Now I have a 2nd bowl to eat from - but I have to steal from that one. We run a lot outside. And fight over the prized place on the couch.  I usually win that one - I'm older and wiser don't you know.

Keep warm. Oh speaking of keeping warm - we both got a snuggie for Christmas. Miss Daisy looks pretty stupid in hers but I'm pretty cute.  They think I'm agreeing to wear this thing so they can talk about it and take pictures but it's cold out there!!  feels good.

Well, time for my nap. You can leave me a message and I'll get back with you later.......see ya!
